ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE

At the Safari, singles are divided into groups and given instructions of their first restaurant. Each group will visit a different restaurant for their starter, mains and dessert, ensuring you try new foods, meet new people and go to three new places all in one night! The experience will ensure your taste buds go on an unforgettable Food Adventure as you engage with good quality singles along your journey. Everyone meets up in one location at the end to spice things up a little and to ensure you reconnect with anyone you liked along your path.

The tour is suitable for guests of all different fitness levels as all restaurants are situated within a walking distance. Something occurred to me as I sitting in traffic this morning.

I hit the National Ploughing Championship yesterday in association with Newstalk in search of love for Lara Lewis, a bubbly gorgeous blonde, aged 38yrs.

Arriving to a mucky field, the inside story is that I had only one hour to put my matchmaking skills to the test. Dressed in the red wellies with my clipboard in one hand and a Newstalk umbrella in another, I went on a mission looking for eligible bachelors amongst the muck, rain, tractors and livestock. Time and weather conditions against me, I went about my fast forward interviewing tactics, quickly gathering information about each bachelor whom I met. Some people thought my job was impossible but with over 70% men attending the Ploughing Championship 2012 I know with the right determination I would find a suitable candidate. That I did!

Mark, a wealthy farmer and a gem of a gentleman from Cloughjordan in Co. Tipperary came up triumphs. Mark, 44yrs, was never married but loved kids, which was a good thing as Lara had children from a previous marriage. Mark was outdoorsy, into hunting, a well to do bachelor, with a roguish look about him. With time against me, decisions needed to be made and so the deal was struck and the matchmake done. Within a few minutes, introductions had been swapped and Lara and Mark found themselves riding high at the amusements at the Ploughing followed by a cup of tea in the nearby stall.

Was there love between the two middle aged singles? Mark & Lara got on very well, enjoyed the rollercoaster of an experience and laughed to their hearts content. However, that was the only heart spurring movement as both have decided there was no attraction between them in the ploughing field yesterday. Lara also revealed to me later on that she was a vegetarian and avidly against the hunting of animals! Not the best start…for a hunting enthusiast. Hahaha…. All in all, both were great sports about the matchmaking and their openness to try something completely new amidst media involvement was phenomenal. Both are still single by the way…so get in contact if anyone wants to date either Lara or Mark.

The one thing that is as plain as day to me about the experience is the fact there are there are no shortages of MEN in this country….the Ploughing Championships was laden with good quality raw Irish bachelors. I will be back next year for sure!!!

The second reason for my sparkly smile…is that I have advocating the activity of volunteering as a great way to meet new people for years and this allows me shout it from the rooftops.
